Solution: |
Structural elements consisted of precast shear walls, columns and pre-tensioned beam soffits, floor planks and stairs. |
Results: |
Construction started in June 2000 and structural portion was completed in Feb 2001. Using precast framing system shortened construction period by at least 4 months in comparison with conventional cast-in-situ construction. Total construction cost was US $11.5 million. The structure sustained the powerful 6.7-magnitude earthquake on October 15, 2006 without any reported damage. |
