Project Location: |
Jakarta, Indonesia |
Project Scope: |
Structural design of hangar roof structure, canopy, and wall pockets for sliding hangar doors, post-tensioned tie beamd and construction engineering
(erection sequence, shoring and shoring removal) |
Project Details: |
- Clear span: 85 meters
- Length of hangar: 52.4 meters
- Ceiling height at crown: 23 meters
|
Challenge: |
To minimize in-place casting work and amount of material (concrete and rebar), and reduce construction time. |
Solution: |
Structural design features precast arch segments
using open folded plates |
Results: |
From past experience 55% savings in concrete
and 40% savings in rebar are achieved using the precast
folded plate roof system in comparison with conventional
design using cast‐in‐situ concrete. Fabrication and
erection of the entire precast roof arch segments took
only 4 months. |
Total Construction Cost: |
US $8 million (completed in 2009) |
